DfK members discussed various options for visibility and community service projects. The majority vote favored looking into "Adopt a Highway" procedures over the alternatives discussed.

Among other items discussed were future fundraisers, the state of the county Democratic Party as the 2006 elections near, and the upcoming Unity Day dinner, Thursday, October 20, 2005. Find out more at Knox County Democrats.

Margaret Fontenot and Miranda Godena presented folders containing printed agendas for the meeting along with two large panels of photographs made by Miranda's daughter at the powerful anti-war demonstration in Washington, DC, attended by well over 300,000 people from all over the United States on Sept. 24.

Canned goods were collected from the membership, on behalf of charity for the growing body of needy citizens in the wake of America's ongoing fiscal and natural disasters in these times.
